"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain."

God cares for cows

Have you ever thought about why cows look the way that they do?  Really, they are quite strange looking creatures.

Elise

When they're born, they have these little spindly legs that wobble and slip out from under them.  And they are so curious.  They have to test everything with their tongues.  Although the older cows are like that as well.  And cows have really long tongues, they have no problem touching their noses.

And cows have such long noses.  Maybe that's so they can drink.  When the new calves start to drink, they sometimes stick their noses as far into the bucket as possible, so they're drinking from the bottom up, not top to bottom.

Rosie

And their ears.  There is one family line in particular who I think has the biggest ears!

B-Cloud, aka Princess (as she likes to be called), aka Big White
Medium White
Little Whites (the 2 whiter cows)
Despite their funny looks, cows are great creatures.  I love to take pictures of them because they are like little kids who flock to the camera.

I think God was so creative when he created all the animals.  Just look at cows, each of then is unique in their body type, colorings, and personality.  They are amazing creatures.

Grandpa told me the other day that I should write about God's passion for cows from the last verse in the book of Jonah.  I was pretty confused when he said that, but I looked it up.
"But Nineveh has more than 120,000 people living in spiritual darkness, not to mention all the animals (some versions say "cattle"). Shouldn’t I feel sorry for such a great city?”  Jonah 4:11
God cares what happens to animals, but he cares for us so much more.
"For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.  Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!  Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.  And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?"  Luke 12:23-24, 27-28
