"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain."

Struggle

Dear God,

I don't have words.  Just music that keeps running through my mind describing how I feel, how I want to feel.

"In the chaos, in confusion
I know You're sovereign still.
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do Your will.
When You call I won't delay
This my song through all my days.

There is no one else for me
None but Jesus.
Crucified to set me free.
Now I live to bring You praise.

All my delight is in You Lord.
All of my hope, all of my strength.
All my delight is in You Lord, forevermore."
**None But Jesus ~Hillsong

"Standing on this mountaintop
Looking just how far we've come
Knowing that for ev'ry step You were with us

Kneeling on this battleground
Seeing just how much You've done
Knowing ev'ry victory was Your power in us

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
(Yes our hearts can say)

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful
God You are faithful
You are faithful
God You are faithful"
**Never Once~ Matt Redman

You are in control God.  You are sovereign, even through all our messes.  You've done so much for us already.  We really don't deserve anything from You because You are so great and holy.  You are faithful, even when we fall short.  You carry us when we are too weak, tired, and broken.

Help us to remain joyful through struggle.  Help us to keep soft hearts, seeing people for who they are, not who/what they represent or what they do to us.  May everything that we say and do bring glory to Your Name.  Whatever happens God, I want my hope always to be in You!

  1. Thanks for this post! The timing of it was very good for me -- as Paul & I are getting ready to go to a viewing for a 31 year old wife & mother from our church. God IS sovereign & He knows what He's doing -- it's foolish of us to ever think we know what's better.

    Have a good day! :)

    1. Thanks Angie! I'm glad this could be meaningful for you. It's so hard to try to understand why painful stuff happens in our lives. I don't think we ever will fully understand. The hardest, but best thing is to keep our focus on God and give Him the glory for how He is growing and maturing our faith in Him!

      Thanks again!
