"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain."

Europe: Day 1

We started our trip off with a very long day of travelling, about 15 hours or so.  We ended up in Schipol airport in Amsterdam where we met up with a group from Canada.  And from there we drove for 6 more hours to northern Germany along the border with Denmark.

We drove around with the group in two of these cars, and Opel Meriva Turbo:

The suicide doors took some getting used to
The scenery was nice, but I was tired so I slept during a lot of the drive.  But we did see some interesting things.

Interestingly shaped buildings near Amsterdam.

Some signs along the road, most of which I could not understand.

An Ikea, we saw a few more also.

2 Opel sports cars, which we passed surprisingly.  Although, soon after this we were passed by a motorcycle who was going a lot faster than we were.

Then we got to our hotel in Flensburg, Germany, where we stayed for 2 nights.

The bed was made when we came in, this picture was taken after the 1st night of our stay.

And we were all so tired, so after a good dinner at a Greek buffet, we all went to bed and slept very well all night.
